Water shortage in Mayotte

While the two hill reservoirs provide nearly 80% of the island’s water supply in normal times, the two reserves are inexorably emptied without the weak rains allowing them to fill. On October 29, 2023, only one week of operation was still possible according to SMAE, a subsidiary of Vinci that operates the network.
